I got Stardew Valley for my girlfriend for Christmas, and it’s been a huge success! She’s always wanted to try gaming but struggled with the stuff I own (even It Takes Two or LEGO games didn’t click). This one hit perfectly—super cozy with no pressure or mechanical skills needed. It even has just enough wizards and monsters to keep me hooked. We love cuddling up and playing splitscreen together. Thank you Stardew Valley for making this happen! Now I’m excited to see what other games she might enjoy playing with me.
Split screen is such an awesome feature. It’s amazing that ConcernedApe keeps updating the game even though he could’ve retired years ago.

I grew up with couch co-op games (born in '02), so I really appreciate good splitscreen. We have a 55" TV—sometimes we have to move the couch closer, but it still feels spacious.

Haha, I’m from the 80s. We played Halo 4-player splitscreen on a 32-inch TV, which felt massive at the time.

Look at Mr. Fancy here! I had a 13-inch hand-me-down TV growing up, and our family’s ‘big’ living room TV was 27 inches until I moved out in ’97. Now I can’t stop eyeing the 86-inch TVs at Costco.

Wake me up when I can put a Las Vegas Sphere in my house. (Edit: wrong city, but you get the idea.)

Wow, that’s… something. I’ll get one when I can walk inside it for a U2 concert or something.

Wild! I played 4-player splitscreen growing up, but I think our TV was around 40 inches. A 32-inch for that is crazy!
@Mal
My brother and I used to play GoldenEye on a 14-inch CRT in our bedroom. And yes, Oddjob was banned in every 4-player match.

GoldenEye needs a remake, but they better keep the original soundtrack.

Now I have an 86-inch TV, but I mostly play Balatro on my PS Portal. Go figure!

And he’s working on a new game too!
Stardew Valley: the ultimate min-max stress simulator. (Just kidding!) My girlfriend and I played it together. She ran the farm while I hit the mines and somehow got two prismatic shards in one run. Our friends still don’t believe it.
@Cassian
I had to chill with the min-maxing mindset. I googled if anything was permanently missable and found out it’s not. Still, I have to remind myself it’s not a second job!

There’s one cutscene with Sam that’s missable in Year 1, but that’s about it.
@Ocean
Yeah, I heard about that and maybe one other heart event. Nothing major though, which is great. If you miss a season, it just loops back around.

Ever tried Animal Crossing?
@Denny
Or Factorio. Nothing like a little stress!
