@Cassian
Playing solo can get stressful. It’s much more fun splitting the tasks—like farming all day while someone else braves the mines.

I showed the game to my friend’s non-gaming girlfriend. Within a week, she was out-min-maxing me, staying up all night and passing the controller with her friend. My buddy got demoted to ‘designated miner.’
My girlfriend got addicted to Stardew Valley but refuses to play co-op with me. (I’ve offered many times!)

Maybe she’d enjoy it if you gave it another try! Think about how great it’d feel if she showed interest in your favorite game. Plus, even if you’re not into farming sims, the exploration and fantasy bits are pretty engaging.
@Mal
It depends on the partner. My girlfriend got super into min-maxing, and I found the in-game time limits too stressful. I’m still stuck in the mindset from Harvest Moon where you can miss stuff permanently.
Love that you’re enjoying Stardew Valley! There are lots of cozy games like it. Here are a few you might like:
- Coral Island
- Disney Dreamlight Valley
- Fae Farm
- Spiritfarer
- Animal Crossing
If she likes any of these, let me know—I can suggest more low-stress games!
@Miller
Thanks for the list! I’ve been looking for more relaxing games. Palia is great too.
@Miller
Saving your suggestions for when we’ve exhausted Stardew Valley. I’ve been eyeing Cult of the Lamb for her, so it’s good to know it’s fun!
@Miller
Do all of these have co-op like Stardew Valley?

Most of them do! Paleo Pines doesn’t, but the others should.
@Miller
What about Slime Rancher? It’s sort of like farming but with slimes.
This was the game that got my girlfriend (now wife) into gaming! She’s the one who ended up teaching me how to play. Now, years later, I’m over 1,100 hours deep and close to finishing my ‘every item in every quality’ run.
Girlfriend secured.

If she loves Stardew Valley, you should try Minecraft. I’m surprised nobody’s suggested it yet!
