As someone who used to work at a competitor store (small, local one, not nationwide), I can totally understand that pricing. Let me explain…
When a new Call of Duty comes out, everyone trades in last year’s version. We’d end up with stacks of them. Even marked down to $5 each, we’d get more traded in than sold! We had to start giving a dollar for recent games because we had so many extras.
GameStop is huge, so they deal with the same issue on a massive scale. Imagine having millions of copies of the same games piling up nationwide! So yeah, here’s your quarter for last year’s top game, sorry lol.

Just kidding, that’s an impressive collection. I wish I kept my PS1 and PS2 games. Got a big PS3/PS4 collection, and PS5 is a work in progress.
