@Remy
Yep, they’ve got a stash of games ready. They’re just waiting for the right moment to release them.

They don’t actually remaster games that often…
Zelda has definitely gotten a lot of remakes, but other franchises get left behind.

Just saw the Paper Mario and Mario RPG remakes!
@Remy
Nintendo puts out more exclusives in a year than Sony and Microsoft combined.

Nah, Nintendo’s greatest trick is charging full price for games they released ages ago…and people still pay it.
Inflation helps if your salary keeps up.

Yar Har Ho Ho, mateys!
I thought their best trick was making all those ROM sites vanish.

Emulating their games is still super easy. But yeah, big companies will do anything to protect their stuff. Doesn’t mean people stopped playing retro games for free.
@Conley
Exactly, people didn’t stop, so Nintendo just moved everything to NSO instead of Virtual Console.
That’s why I was disappointed with the Mario Movie. Nintendo just let Illumination turn it into a safe cash grab, even though the RPGs have such clever writing!

It was fine, though. Played it safe, which is what Nintendo wanted. After the 90s movie, they were never gonna take risks.
@Quincy
Just my opinion, but I didn’t enjoy it. The 93 movie had more wit, oddly enough.

I like both, but for totally different reasons. The 93 movie was bizarre, while the new one was just light fun.

The movie made tons of money, so Nintendo knew what they were doing!
@Reid
Yeah, but it’s weird for a company that usually obsesses over quality to go with a studio like Illumination, known for churning out low-effort cash grabs.

They had about 5 billion reasons to go with them!

Nintendo wanted a safe, fan-service movie. Illumination is literally built for that.
Haha funny Mario man go brr.
Yep, couldn’t agree more.
Maybe if you’re eight.
