@Kendall
But they don’t do it enough. Tons of people still want those games on Switch instead of just going back to old consoles.

At least they re-release some classics.
Call me when I can play Future Cop.
@Kendall
Future Cop was on PS1, right? Same accessibility issue as a lot of Nintendo’s games…we’re both stuck unless we emulate.

What’s even the argument here?

It’s more about the balance of accessible classic games versus keeping them out of reach…Nintendo’s just picky with what they bring back.
@Kendall
Nintendo could have tons more of their old games easily accessible but they don’t. It’s frustrating.

I wouldn’t say Nintendo is any better. Lots of great games are still locked away on older hardware.
Bet all these games will be on the next console anyway. Keeping old fans happy but also bringing in new ones.
@Reagan
Xbox does it right, letting you use old physical and digital games on new hardware. Wish Nintendo did something like that!
@Kendall
I miss the online mode in MGS IV. It was one of the best multiplayer experiences!
@Kendall
Sony made porting MGS IV a nightmare with that PS3 architecture…

Nah, Nintendo’s greatest trick is charging full price for games they released ages ago…and people still pay it.
Why does a game lose value just because it’s old?

90s kid here, loved beat-em-ups way more than platformers, but Mario’s a safe pick for my kid. Started with Deluxe, now we’re playing TTYD.

So Activision just borrowed Nintendo’s playbook for re-releases, huh?

Nintendo’s so stuck in the past. They barely embraced online, and now I’m emulating everything on PC rather than paying $40-60 again.
@Zephyr
Some die-hard fans downvote the truth, but it’s obvious. Nintendo’s way behind with how they handle older games.

People still beg for them. Personally, I’d rather have something new.
@Remy
Kind of a weird comment since Nintendo also makes plenty of new games.
@Remy
They don’t actually remaster games that often…

Maybe not recently, but they seem to be holding back until the new console comes out. It’s all about timing.

Totally. Towards the end of a console’s life, they save big releases for the new hardware. And for younger players, it’s often their first time experiencing these games.
