Crazy that Black Flag is still the gold standard for pirate games, even now.
Why not just play Sea of Thieves?
Man, I feel the same way!
Check out Age of Pirates 1 or 2. Adding the Gentleman of Fortune mod really improves them.
Have you tried Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? The naval stuff in that game was amazing and detailed.
Keep an eye on Rise of Piracy and Sailors: Age of Corsairs. Both are indie games, but Rise of Piracy is being developed by one guy, so it might take a while.
I’m right there with you! Ever since Black Flag, I’ve been waiting for another great single-player pirate game. Sea of Thieves is decent but gets repetitive fast, and Skull and Bones has been a letdown. Here’s hoping someone listens and makes something worth playing.
Have you tried playing Elite Dangerous as a space pirate? It’s not the same, but it’s got the same vibes.
Did you ever try Assassin’s Creed Rogue? It’s basically a follow-up to Black Flag.
Sid Meier’s Pirates is still undefeated in the pirate game category.
I’m guessing you’ve already played Assassin’s Creed Black Flag?
Sea of Thieves is the way to go.
Have you tried Valheim? It’s not a pirate game, but you can explore the seas and roleplay as a Viking pirate.
Check out Horizon’s Gate. It’s an open-world RPG with a pirate/fantasy theme. Pretty fun if you like sandbox games.
