Why hasn’t the Resistance series been revived after all this time?

@Vic
I loved the Resistance games, but I can’t see them justifying the budget for a new one now.

@Vic
Sony never officially hyped these as Halo killers, but the gaming press sure loved that headline.

@Vic
Do you remember Haze and Socom too? Warhawk would’ve been perfect as a free-to-play game today. It could’ve been Fortnite before Fortnite.

Sony has so many amazing franchises they just let sit. It’s frustrating how out of touch the execs are now.

Maybe they know that just because fans want something doesn’t mean it’ll be a hit.

@Keir
Nope. They’re just out of touch.

@Keir
Gaming execs often don’t even come from gaming backgrounds. They’re just investors who bought their way in.

I kind of appreciate that Sony lets their studios move on to new things instead of keeping them tied to old franchises. It’s better than Microsoft creating studios just for one IP.

@Nile
But they literally bought studios to work on ports and remasters. They could at least do that with their older franchises.

They’re probably waiting to see what happens with Call of Duty going exclusive to Game Pass.

@Mai
Sony has ignored their old franchises for much longer than the Activision deal.

True, but they do let their studios have creative freedom.

Some studios, sure. But many ideas get rejected before they even get started.

Sony and Microsoft both frustrate me. Imagine new Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, or Twisted Metal! Same with Microsoft—why no Kameo or Viva Pinata anymore?

@Reeve
It’s true, the industry isn’t the same anymore. At least some studios are still trying new things.
