I’ve been playing Resistance 2 on my Steam Deck, and I can’t believe they never brought this series back. It’s such a shame.
I spent so much time on the co-op mode in Resistance 2 on PS3. It was the first online game I really got into.

I have so many memories of grinding co-op in Resistance 2. Those were the days!

The co-op mode was like a mix of MMO raids and FPS gameplay. Nothing like it existed on Xbox, and with live service games being everywhere now, it’s wild they don’t bring it back.
@Jaden
So it was like Destiny before Destiny?

Pretty much like strikes, yeah. People compare it to Destiny or The Division, but they don’t quite capture the same magic. I’d still love a remake, but I doubt it would hold my attention like the original did.

I remember playing the Army of Two demo back then too. What a time to be alive. We’re getting old.

Co-op was the best part for me too. So much fun.
I loved how epic the story was in 2. They scaled it down in 3, but it was still solid.
I love all three Resistance games. We really need a remaster or remake of the trilogy. Also, where’s the remaster for Infamous 1 and 2?

I would lose my mind if they remastered Infamous 1 and 2.

Because it’s Sony, that’s why.
Sony has so many amazing franchises they just let sit. It’s frustrating how out of touch the execs are now.

Resistance and Killzone were hyped as Halo killers, but that might’ve backfired. I doubt they hit the sales numbers Sony was hoping for.
@Vic
Fans called them Halo killers, not Sony. That kind of marketing wasn’t official. These games had enough of a fanbase for multiple entries, and Sony just abandoned them when the last ones didn’t meet expectations.
@Joss
I remember a magazine calling Killzone a Halo killer back in 2004. It was such a big deal back then.

Yeah, media loves console wars for clicks. But that’s not the same as Sony officially calling it that.
@Joss
Actually, the ‘Halo killer’ phrase was even printed on the case of Killzone’s Greatest Hits version.
@Joss
Resistance kind of lost its way after the first game. The story started big and dramatic, but by the third game, it felt like they just expanded the world without resolving anything.
@Joss
People make all sorts of wild speculations. It’s hard to keep those in check, honestly.
