I recently did a transparent GameCube reshell along with an atomic purple GameBoy player. Anyone here into modding old consoles? Just wanted to share how it turned out!

That Game Boy Player is awesome! I used to spend hours playing GBA games on my GameCube.

They were goodwill finds and just kind of happened, so it wasn’t too hard to get them. I’m still on the lookout for a transparent green Zenith CRT, though I haven’t had any luck.

From what I can see, Zenith also made a translucent atomic purple one! I found one on eBay, but they’re asking $540 for it.

I can’t imagine shipping one of those would be fun… but I’m definitely keeping an eye out for both of them.

It’s actually a little more expensive to make translucent plastic than opaque plastic. Companies go for cheaper options, and now everything just looks like a cable box.
