The Brothers in Arms series deserves to return. Gearbox has kept this franchise dormant for far too long, and Matt Baker’s story needs closure.
With the state of modern shooters, maybe it’s better off staying dead.

What, you don’t want to play as a banana-skin Snoop Dogg sliding into battle? /s

Compare CoD: Vanguard to World at War. It’s night and day.
We need a proper WWII game without microtransactions or tacked-on multiplayer. Just give us a solid, story-driven campaign.

Medal of Honor did it right back in the day.

So did Call of Duty and Battlefield, back in their prime.
@Wilder
Normandy in Medal of Honor was incredible.
@Wilder
Battlefield 1942 was great for its time, especially multiplayer.

You might like Enlisted. It’s a free-to-play WWII shooter with large battles and decent squad mechanics.

I’d love a grounded WWII FPS, but I doubt it’d be made without focusing on microtransactions.
Randy Pitchford claimed it’s coming, but Gearbox is too focused on Borderlands. A remake of the originals might be a good start.

Gearbox would actually need to put effort into writing for a Brothers in Arms game. They can’t rely on fart jokes like Borderlands.

At this point, I’d settle for a remaster.
WWII games need to make a comeback. There are so many untold stories.

Brothers in Arms and a Medal of Honor: Allied Assault remake would be day-one purchases for me.

I miss WWII games. Modern settings don’t interest me as much.
I just finished Hell’s Highway. That “To Be Continued” screen is such a slap in the face.
“Find 'em. Fix 'em. Flank 'em. Finish 'em.” Such a simple, yet satisfying strategy loop.
