That whole E3 was legendary. Xbox walked in like a king and left in shambles.

Honestly, the writing was on the wall even before that. Xbox lost its momentum towards the end of the 360 era.

I remember soldiers complaining they couldn’t use Xbox because of the always-online requirements.
