Should you play Alien: Isolation if you're interested but scared?

Does playing on easy make the game more fun, or does it make the alien less scary?

I think the alien gets a bit easier to manage on easy, but you still get to enjoy the tension. It also makes you take less damage and hit harder. From what I’ve heard, it’s still fun to play on easy, but I played on normal for my first time.

I tried playing it on easy but got frustrated when I kept getting found and killed by humans.

The worst part for me was trying to explore every area for collectibles while the game clearly told me to get out of there fast!

The trick is to grab everything you can before you pull the lever or do the critical mission step. Then you can focus on surviving.

No thanks, not for me.

“FUCK THAT” indeed :joy:

Weirdly enough, that’s the same advice for stage fright. The audience is rooting for you, they want you to succeed.

I just replayed Alien: Isolation. It really captures the vibe of the first Alien movie, but I think it’s a bit too long. Just when you think you’re done… there’s more.

I like your take, but I think the game has a different issue. The idea is that you’re supposed to survive and feel like Ripley, but with the janky AI and unclear goals, you die a lot. It’s frustrating, and while dying isn’t the end, you lose that sense of being a survivor. It feels more like a game where you just try to survive rather than feel like a character.

@Mica
I get what you mean. But there’s an achievement for finishing the game without dying, which sounds nuts. I always tell myself that if I die, I’m just a step closer to success.
