Remember when beating a game on hard mode gave you infinite ammo?

These days, it feels like all you get is some virtual trophy no one cares about. Back in the day, you’d unlock things like infinite health or an ultimate weapon for actually finishing the hardest challenges. Now it’s just microtransactions or nothing.

Metal Gear Solid was so rewarding for this stuff. The tuxedo and bandana made replaying it a blast.

MGS4 took so much of my time, but it was worth it. I still remember going for the no-alert and no-kill runs. That solar gun was so satisfying to unlock!

@Sky
That solar gun made things so much easier, especially against bosses like Vamp. Plus, it just looked cool charging in the sunlight!

True, but wasn’t it tricky to use for stealth runs? Pretty sure the charging sound would give you away.

@Keller
Not really! You could still sneak around fine; just had to time your shots carefully. One blast and Vamp was done for.

I thought there’d be more skins after the tuxedo, so I replayed the whole thing. Imagine my disappointment when it just reset!

Let’s not forget the infinite face paint! Made you feel unstoppable.

The Dead Space remake brought back the foam finger gun from DS2 if you beat Impossible mode. It’s hilarious to use—Isaac just goes ‘Bang!’ and everything dies in one shot.

Resident Evil still does rewards, but you need a good rank too. It makes it worth replaying.

The assault rifle in RE: Village turned the whole game into Doom. Went from survival horror to action chaos real quick.

@Micah
That’s what I loved about Village—it starts as survival horror and slowly turns into an action-packed shooter. The balance was perfect.

@Micah
Except for House Beneviento… that part still haunts me.

If only we could blow it up with an infinite RPG. Problem solved.

The infinite gatling gun in RE5 was my favorite. Just mowing through everything felt so good.

@Ashton
That thing was a beast. Nothing could stand in your way with it.

I miss cheat codes, honestly. Mods are nice, but they’re not as universal.

Exactly. Cheat codes worked for everyone. Now it’s mostly just PC players who get that freedom.

GameShark back in the day was life-changing. Miss those times.

Achievement hunters confuse me. You grind for hours just for a virtual badge? Back in the day, you got actual rewards.
