For me, it was Bastion. The gameplay didn’t grab me, but the soundtrack is a masterpiece.
Bastion’s development story is so cool. The devs were friends working in a garage. Their rise as a studio is inspiring.

@Noe
Yeah, it’s a great story. Bastion’s a solid game; it just wasn’t for me.

Did you try their other games?

Yeah, I really enjoyed Transistor.
@Jai
Same here. Transistor was awesome.
@Jai
Glad to see another fan!

I met the dev team at PAX 2010. Super nice folks. Darren Korb and the lead artist were great to chat with.

I think the artist’s name is Jen Zee. Her work is amazing, and the whole team seems so genuine and talented.

Transistor is one of my favorites, but yeah, the soundtrack definitely steals the show.
Katana-Zero’s soundtrack is great, but the price for MP3s feels steep. I’d prefer a lossless version, especially since reviews say the MP3s don’t even have proper metadata.

I actually found the soundtrack on Spotify before I played the game. Bought the game later, but it didn’t click for me. The music, though? Perfect mix of cyberpunk and synthwave.
Furi is a perfect example of this. Tons of people love the soundtrack but have never touched the game.

Carpenter Brut absolutely kills it on that soundtrack.
Honestly, the gameplay and story are just as good as the soundtrack. It’s not eclipsed at all.
Didn’t they mention DLC for this game a while back? Whatever happened to that?
Furi for me. The soundtrack stuck with me more than the game did.

Furi’s gameplay is incredible, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

I couldn’t stand the bullet hell parts.
@True
Same. If it had just focused on the close combat, it would’ve been perfect. Switching between bullet hell and melee felt jarring.

My issue was with the controls. Couldn’t rebind anything, and it was frustrating enough that I refunded the game.
