Back in high school, I struggled with remembering capital cities in Asia… So I added them to a HoMaM 3 map to help me learn, and now it's a playable map!

Ahhh, Heroes of Might and Magic… This series was the first PC game I played that wasn’t DOOM. The salesperson at Babbages was slick too, because I got into the game and less than a month later, the second one came out, and it really blew my mind.

We were twins and always fighting over the PC, but Heroes was special because it had hotseat multiplayer. I have such fond memories with this series. Three was the last one I played, and I didn’t like it as much as 2, but it was still cool.

Nice work! Would you be able to share a copy of this map? I would love to play it!

BROTHER! I thought I was alone in doing stuff like this. I used to do the same thing and also use it for making world maps for my DnD games.

Yeah, video games do help with learning geography. I know every region of Europe thanks to Crusader Kings.

What’s the map, by the way?

Oh how cool! I remember Far Cry 2 teaching me what ‘muff diving’ is XD

There’s a new Heroes of Might and Magic game coming up Q2 of 2025!! Can’t wait to get back in

Very cool

Thanks!

Awesome map! Yeah, I still play it too from time to time, used the mapmaker to flesh out my DnD setting lol.

Nice. Uncharted Waters 2 taught me European geography and port city names.

This game’s art style is so charming and colorful - I would almost consider it timeless, but maybe it’s just nostalgia. Such a fun TBS.

I still play it from time to time. Mainly with the Horn of Abyss mod.

Can you share this map to play?

‘Viking We Shall Go’ - inspired? I love this!
