Anyone else still dreaming of a Warcraft IV?

I worry it’d be a rushed mess, even worse than Warcraft 3 Reforged.

They already showed us what a Warcraft IV would look like. Total disaster.

Sadly true, Blizzard has been struggling lately.

Lately?

Yeah, for the past decade or so. Just a small blip!

MoP came out in 2012… makes me feel ancient.

@Ari
You misspelled ‘Blizzard’s been a mess for the last 5 years’

I was hoping Reforged would do well and bring in enough fans to push for Warcraft IV. Safe to say that didn’t happen.

@Aubrey
Like how Microsoft re-released Age of Empires and then made AoE IV.

AoE is the best. Those games practically raised me.

@Aubrey
Last year, I bought Warcraft 3 for next to nothing and still preferred the SC2 arcade campaign. The updated mechanics just felt better.

@Aubrey
Glad I got to experience the original series before Reforged came out and messed with it.

Couldn’t agree more. Warcraft 3 had one of the best RTS stories.

Nope, not with the way Blizzard is now.

Some Blizzard devs did say they’d love to work on Warcraft IV, but their bosses don’t want it. Instead, we got a $90 WoW mount.

I don’t think it’s the devs lacking passion, but more about the constant mismanagement and layoffs.

@Wes
Layoffs and poor raises probably led to a shift away from real gamer-focused work, too.

Translation: We’ll work on anything you’ll pay us for, just hand over the check.

I was 12 when Warcraft 3 came out, and I fell in love with it. Frozen Throne was the peak of gaming for me, and I’ve been waiting for something that good ever since.

Only way a Warcraft IV would make sense is if they somehow tied it to WoW’s story.

@Tariq
Or they could recap some of WoW’s biggest moments in an RTS format.

Imagine assaulting the Black Temple in an RTS. That’d be epic.
