Funny thing… there was a new Warcraft version on the PTR a couple of weeks ago. It’s encrypted, but folks think it might be another Warcraft Reforged or (we can dream) Warcraft IV.
Don’t get your hopes up. I’d be surprised if they fixed Reforged, let alone tried anything new.

The first fancy mount they made for WoW earned more than Wings of Liberty ever did. There just isn’t enough demand for a new Warcraft.

That’s actually a myth. While it had a higher profit margin, SC2 made more in total. Still, Activision got way too focused on easy cash, and that’s why we have mobile games and WoW expansions instead.

Blizzard doesn’t have the people or skills to make anything new. They outsourced most of Reforged, too. Now they’re just managing WoW for money.

Old Blizzard had such a unique charm and storytelling style. A new version would just be missing that magic.

I never got the whole ‘tarnish the legacy’ argument. If you don’t like a game, just don’t play it. Let others enjoy it if they want.

Well, Blizzard has gotten so big it can’t really innovate anymore. Warcraft 3 built on Starcraft and Warcraft 2, adding heroes and a fresh story. But since then, Blizzard hasn’t really done anything groundbreaking.

Given how preachy big studios have gotten, I half-expect something like ‘Warcraft IV: The Moral Lessons’ edition.

Yeah, they messed with the lore. Illidan became an anti-hero, and Arthas got tangled in a weird story involving the Jailer.

Illidan was always kind of an anti-hero. Malfurion and Tyrande were actually not so great in WC3 either.

Wait, didn’t Maiev also kill people and basically abandon Tyrande at one point? Illidan’s actions always had a purpose.
Watch them try a redemption arc for Sargeras next. They’ll go the Disney route!

Imagine if old Blizzard came back. These newer gamers don’t even know what they missed out on.
