It is Call of Duty for me, not so much because of the microtransactions and monotonous gameplay, but rather because of the enormous download sizes that are obviously intended to take up all available hard drive space.
There is no good reason why these games need to weigh between 200 and 300 GB.
Call of Duty, but mostly because of how lazy they have become with the offline campaigns. Some of the collectible side missions are just ridiculous, and it feels like they only focus on the online aspect now. I really enjoyed the first few games when they were released on PC, and the campaigns were fantastic back then.
I miss being able to get things merely by playing. Furthermore, there are far too many distinct types of weaponry available these days, what good is the meta if everyone is using the same ones?
When I think about SOCOM games, I usually remember how you could earn new skins and characters for use in multiplayer mode simply by finishing the campaign.
Something similar existed in Battlefield 4, wherein the campaign had to be completed to unlock certain weaponry.
Exactly this. I don’t have the time to compete against all the hardcore players online. I just want to enjoy the campaign, but their recent ones have been pretty underwhelming
.
Exactly. Competing against all the hardcore players online just is not feasible for me. I just want to focus on the single-player content, but the recent storylines have been disappointing.
