What do you think of the new Switch 2 joy-cons at CES?

Looks like some new joy-cons might have been shown at CES 2025. What do you think?

So Nintendo is seriously waiting until the last minute to officially talk about the Switch 2?

They’re already late. We’ve seen the controllers, the hardware, the tear-downs, the architecture, and even leaks about a Mario Kart 9 special edition bundle. All that’s left is for them to tell us the release date.

@Nevada
And the price.

Actually, we know that too. Investors were told it would launch at the same price as the original Switch: $399.99 Canadian.

Damn, I only have like $4 Canadian. Do they take American dollars like usual?

@Flint
Nope, you’ll need snow pesos if you’re buying in Canada.

It’s called Canadough, actually.

Do they accept Dollarydoos though?

Only in Australia.

Sometimes they’re called American nickels.

Timbits are also accepted.

Well, good luck buying it with Monopoly money then.

@Flint
I feel like this is just Nintendo trolling us all.

If it’s the same price as the first Switch at launch, I’m in for day one. If not, I’ll wait until a new Zelda comes out.

@Luca
Same, though I’m crossing my fingers for a price drop before that happens.

Right in time for us to get hit with tariffs and double that price. Typical.

That’s way too cheap. It’s probably going to be $500+. They won’t want to undercut Switch OLED sales at $450.

@Branley
Maybe they’ll drop the price on the old Switch before the new one launches. Gotta clear out the stock.

That’d be nice, but Nintendo almost never does price drops. The original Switch actually went up by $20 back in 2020!
