SWTOR character creator got a graphics update

The character creation in SWTOR finally has updated graphics! It’s great to see the game still getting some love after all these years. Anyone else checking it out?

I used to play SWTOR a lot back in the day. Nice to see it’s still getting updates, even though most of the content now is just rerunning the same events over and over.

True, but with the funding it gets, this is probably the best we can expect.

You just described Space Marine 2, and people seem to like that.

@Alden
Space Marine 2 is brand new and has a roadmap for updates. SWTOR is over a decade old and an MMO, which lives or dies based on content variety and keeping players engaged. Big difference.

These look great, but people on the SWTOR forums are really mad about their characters’ appearances changing. The fem Mandalorian looks a bit strange with that haircut and the shaved front.

I know, but I tried to make it work anyway.

@Zev
Honestly, at first glance, I thought she was wearing a weird hood.

I actually like the hairstyle, but it really needs matching complexions. Some of the presets have shaved hair, so it feels a bit off.

This game was amazing for the first playthrough, but endgame and replaying got stale. I haven’t played since the first year it came out.

If you come back now, you can explore the remastered starting planets.

@Zev
The issue for me was that outside of the class quests, every playthrough was basically the same. Same planets, same order. It felt repetitive. Games like FFXIV and WoW have more variety in leveling paths.

@Galen
How is that any different from FFXIV? Everyone goes through the same main story there too, except for some class quests. The only difference is which starting city you get.

Fair point. Limsa, Uldah, and Gridania just feel more substantial compared to SWTOR’s starting areas. I think ESO would’ve been a better example for variety, though it’s more of a sandbox.

I played a while back and liked it until I accidentally started an expansion storyline. Then I was stuck in it until I finished.

@Sterling
Sounds like you hit Knights of the Fallen Empire.

I wish they didn’t ignore Oceania players so much.

I’d still play this if they let you replay the story missions.

Can’t you just start a new character?
