Saw this pic and wondered if it’s from a game or something else. Looks too cool to be real.
Looks awesome! Which game is this from?

It’s from Star Citizen. I took this screenshot in the 4.0 EPTU. I adjusted the brightness of the sky and removed stars, but the planet itself looks like this in-game.
@Zoren
I really love the game, but why can’t they just stick to a proper timeline?

What’s there to enjoy right now? I haven’t kept up. Last I checked, it felt more like a tech demo than a full game.
@Neely
There’s plenty now! You’ve got a bunch of planets, moons, space stations, flyable ships, FPS missions, space combat, mining, cargo hauling, salvage, and multiplayer on large ships. Sure, there are bugs, and performance isn’t the best—you need a strong PC—but there’s a lot to do.
That said, progress gets wiped sometimes, and patches can break big parts of the game. It’s a unique experience unlike any other game, but you’ll need patience to find your fun and learn how to avoid bugs.
It’s free to try during certain events, like one happening in a few days. No cost to check it out. It’s complicated, though, so watch some recent guides to get started.
@Mai
My biggest issue is the constant crashes and game-breaking bugs. If you don’t get booted to the title screen, you might randomly explode, die, or get stuck mid-mission.
The bug reporting system is frustrating. I tried reporting one that forces you to log out because you’re stuck, but unless others upvote it on their site, the devs might not notice. The bug’s been there for years.
It feels like if a bug isn’t popular, it doesn’t exist to them.

You’re never getting an accurate timeline from them, lol.

It’s Star Citizen, the MMO that’s going to take 20 years to finish. They’ve been working on server meshing for 12 years, and now they’re just testing it. Maybe it’ll become a real game instead of just a fancy screenshot maker someday.
This is from Star Citizen, right? Looks like bloom effects.

Yep, that’s correct.

Thanks a lot!
This is so cool!
Just a heads-up: the game is still in unstable early access.
You can land anywhere on this planet and explore it seamlessly, just like on others in Star Citizen. No loading screens or scripted landings. If you wanted, you could walk in a straight line all the way around the planet.
Here’s a video of this specific planet: https://youtu.be/FK4CIJ3de48?t=120
I crashed into that planet last night. Actually, an NPC rammed into me—it wasn’t my fault!
Just a warning—your PC might double as a toaster while running this game.
Your mom could run on that PC too!
