I’ve never even considered playing games through Netflix, but I’m curious. Who actually plays these? Who’s the audience for this?
I haven’t tried any of the games on my TV, but Netflix actually includes a bunch of mobile games. I’ve played quite a few since they’re all ad-free and don’t have microtransactions.
And some of them are actually solid games like Civ VI, Shredder’s Revenge, Spiritfarer, Hades, and more.
@Francis
Wait… Hades is on Netflix? I was just about to buy it for my Switch!

Only on iOS, so if you’ve got an Android, no luck.

Got excited for a second… then saw that last part. Bummer. But I do play some Netflix Android games, and the lack of ads makes even the mediocre ones better.
@Dane
The iOS version plays just like the Switch version. It’s really good.
@Dane
Dead Cells is also on there and is worth checking out.

Yeah, but only for iOS. It’s included with your Netflix subscription.

Netflix does a terrible job promoting this. I always ignore the ‘gaming’ section because it just looks like generic puzzle games.
@Hayes
You should check it out. They actually have good games like Dead Cells, Spiritfarer, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, and Into the Breach. It’s not just Candy Crush clones.

It’s definitely worth getting on Switch. I don’t even usually like these kinds of games, but I borrowed it from my local library and ended up buying it because I played it so much.
@Peyton
Hades is amazing. I don’t even like roguelikes, but the music and gameplay hooked me.

Get a Backbone controller and it plays just as well as on Switch.

A $24 wireless controller for Switch also works great on iPhone.

Android has Dead Cells on Netflix too. Just pair an old PS4 controller and you’re set.
Into the Breach also works great with touchscreen controls.

Netflix actually has some of the best mobile games. You can find more good games in a minute than you would after hours of scrolling through the app store.
@Francis
I played GTA: San Andreas on Netflix while I was in China. Didn’t need an internet connection after the first time logging in, which was great.

Yeah, you just need internet when you launch the game for the first time to verify your Netflix account. After that, you can play offline.
Not enough people know about this feature!
@Francis
Had no idea. That’s actually pretty cool.

Wait, so does it download the whole game onto your phone?
