No matter how many games I try, I always end up returning to this one. There’s just something about it that feels right. Anyone else feel the same?
Same here! I always find myself playing it again, especially with the living city mods. They change everything.

Totally agree. Those mods make the game feel closer to what we all expected it to be back when it was hyped up.
@Mai
Are there still active mods for it? I played the second game and liked it, but the third one didn’t click with me.

Yeah, there’s a big modding community. The living city mod is a must—it makes the game almost rival GTA V in single-player experience. The ‘Worse Mod’ is also great for visuals, though there are newer options that might be better now.
@Mai
Honestly, even without mods, I think this game holds its own against GTA V’s open world. It feels way more interactive.
@Mai
Is the mod hard to install?
Not at all. There are guides on YouTube that walk you through it step by step.

The ‘Worse Mod’ is awesome for the first game. It brings back a lot of what was shown in the original trailers.
@Ash
Why is it called ‘Worse Mod’? Wouldn’t a name like ‘Better Mod’ make more sense?

It’s a reference to the graphical downgrade Ubisoft did after the E3 reveal. The mod restores things like coat physics and lighting effects. Check this video.
@Ash
I get the concept, but the mod looks way too dark and blurry. It’s hard to see anything at night.
@Ash
Yeah, honestly, it does look worse in some ways.
@Mai
This guy really loves his dynamic resolution scaling.

Just walking through the rain with my coat on, hearing police sirens in the background… it’s such a vibe.
@Vance
I’ve never slow-walked more in a game. The NPC interactions are so fun to watch.

I specifically target the creeps, like people with sketchy profiles. It feels good to take them out—even if it’s just crossing a red light.
@Vance
It’s always satisfying when games let you handle things your way. I love this freedom.
@Vance
Same! I like driving around while listening to the in-game radio, pretending I’m undercover.

I haven’t heard about the mods yet. Might actually give this game another try. Thanks!
