I gotta say sorry to everyone in the gaming world for not believing EA was so bad…

Yep, I’ve had the same issue. After a few hours of playing ME1, ME2 just wouldn’t load. Felt like EA was punishing me for buying it on Steam.

Got it from EA’s store when it wasn’t on Steam, and still had this happen. They just make it a pain for everyone.

@Ash
Did all the same things OP did. First time, it played the launcher music endlessly because two instances ran at once. After that, I’d just hit ‘play’ and back away slowly. Works if I don’t mess with it.

@Oli
Having to wait to launch a paid game should allow for a refund. Doing this every time without warning is ridiculous.

@Oli
Totally agree – it’s so unnecessary.

@Ash
No joke, the EA app has issues if you’re offline. Offline mode lasts maybe 30 minutes, then it asks for internet again. I pirate all EA games now.

The fact that Sims 4 has $2,000+ worth of DLC is honestly nauseating.

That’s just next-level greed.

@Ash
I’ve had my fair share of issues with the EA app too – it’s just broken.

Yeah. When it says ‘preparing game’ and then quits, just let it sit for like 5 minutes. It eventually works, as if EA is just checking out what’s on your computer.

I keep getting the ‘authorize account’ pop-up, and it fails every time. After an hour of trying, I just gave up.

Honestly, this is like emulation. You bought the game, so… no shame in sailing the high seas. Runs way better anyway.

Yep, just grab it from the high seas and you’re free of EA.

Got into emulation last year, and I’m done with paying for remasters of old games I already bought.

@Julius
Exactly – they’ve already had our money once.

Kinda wild that pirating a game in 2024 is sometimes easier and better than buying it.

@Mariana
It’s a sad state of things, isn’t it?

The fact that it’s true is almost unbelievable.

This whole experience is worse than the original ending of Mass Effect 3.

At least the ME3 ending had lights – this just has frustration.

OP, EA’s app launcher might as well be malware. Had the same issue with Dragon Age – only way to fix it was creating a whole new Windows profile.

Or they could have just listened to what fans wanted in Dragon Age, instead of ruining the lore.
