Found my old Super Mario 64 save file… still chasing that rabbit in the basement!

Booted up my old save file, and guess what? I’m still trying to catch that pesky rabbit in the basement. Anyone else have tips or memories?

You gotta catch him at the corners or on a turn. Jump, dive, and slide to grab him!

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge!

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a rabbit!

Hmm, let’s see… dodge, duck, dip, dive, parry, dodge, spin, ha, thrust—bam!

Isn’t it great when a simple tip actually works?

Just do it blind at the corner every time. It works, trust me.

Corners are where they get you, every time.

Super Mario 64 is a masterpiece. So innovative for its time.

Grew up on it too! I don’t even know if I ever beat it completely, but it was such a special game.

Beat Bowser a few times, but never got all the stars. The real challenge was finding all of them, especially back before there were so many guides online.

@Palmer
No 120 stars? That means no Yoshi, no sparkly triple jump, no cannon in the courtyard! Gotta dust that cartridge off and go all the way!

@Palmer
Guess 100% completion would be the dream. What a game though.

My brother and I never finished it either. We’d give up and switch to Donkey Kong 64 instead. Had the Nintendo Power guide for that one!

@Jesse
Wait, Donkey Kong 64 was easier for you than Mario 64? That game was intense, even with a guide!

Yeah, DK64 was tough. Banjo-Kazooie was the best N64 platformer though!
