Hey folks, I stumbled upon a Wii U at a kids’ play area recently. It felt like stepping back in time! Just wanted to share this random find. Have you come across anything like this lately?
My Wii U has never had controller issues either. It’s kind of amazing.

Yeah, the Wii U was pretty solid when it came to controllers. Unlike the Joycons today.

Same! The Wii U controllers were great. My Joycons always have trouble connecting, and they don’t work too well with the Joycon controller pad.
Such an amazing console. It’s like Nintendo’s Dreamcast.

Dreamcast had a ton more great games than the Wii U. Dreamcast was way ahead of its time, while the Wii U was behind the other consoles.
@Branley
Yeah, but could the Dreamcast double as a Wii? Could you use the Dreamcast controller as a Wii sensor bar? Did the Dreamcast have a built-in TV remote?

True, Dreamcast had Bleemcast, played PlayStation games, and used hall effect sensors in the controller. It did have a remote for VCD and MP3 too.
The Wii U was more groundbreaking than the Switch in some ways. When it launched, the tablet controller was a unique concept.

I remember playing Nintendo Land for the first time and just being blown away. Felt like I was a kid again.

Yeah, it was cool but that ‘asymmetrical gaming’ hype never really went anywhere. Nintendo pushed it hard, then dropped it.
@Cale
Yeah, Sony did the same with the PS4’s touchpad. They pushed it for a bit but then gave up. It just became the select button.
@Cale
Right? The Wii U gamepad was pretty awkward. The Switch is way better with the whole ‘gaming on the go’ idea.

I think the Wii U would have done better if they skipped the Wii and went straight to the U.
Blast from the past! Remember those Wii U game nights? Those were good times.
The Wii U had the Virtual Console, you could buy games there. Switch’s NSO is just a greedy way for Nintendo to let you play their old games.
This brings back childhood memories.
Wild find! That menu screen brings back so many memories.
Yeah, I used to see these all over Texas, especially at children’s locations.
Still have mine connected to my TV. Same goes for the original Wii. I don’t use them much anymore though.
