Found a Cool Setup at Goodwill… Has Anyone Else Got Any Unique Gaming Setups?

I recently stumbled upon a portable DVD player at Goodwill and noticed it had AV in and out ports. They’re single 3.5mm ports, I believe. I happened to find an RCA (yellow and white) to 3.5mm cable at the same store and decided to try it out. To my surprise, it worked perfectly! Now I’ve got a little mobile DVD and gaming setup. Thought I’d share it here. By the way, the blue glow in the pic isn’t actually there in real life—this thing has solid blacks and great contrast. Does anyone else have a weird or cool gaming setup? Now I’m curious about what else is possible!

Goodwill is a gold mine! I grabbed an SNES with a bunch of games there and it worked perfectly.

That’s awesome! My Goodwill doesn’t seem to have any retro consoles or games, but they do have a ton of VCR/DVD players and a huge DVD collection.

As someone who loves chaining old tech together, I have to say I really respect this.

Appreciate that! What’s your weirdest/coolest daisy chain setup?

I love retro games. Anything retro, I’m in.

Same! My collection just keeps growing and I love it.

Oh, I used to do this back in the early 2000s. Mine was a bit older, so it didn’t have all the ports to make it easy. I still had to include a VCR under my desk. But I could play Secret of Mana and Ocarina of Time on it when I wasn’t allowed to have a TV in my room.

@Dezi
That’s awesome. Back then, we had to make do with workarounds. No HDMI back then, haha.
