Finally playing Shadow of the Colossus after hearing so much about it for years… anyone else remember their first time?

I’ve just started Shadow of the Colossus for the first time. Heard about it for years, but now I finally get to experience it. Any tips or stories from your first time playing?

This is still one of my all-time favorite games from the PS2 days. I’m jealous—wish I could experience it fresh all over again. Take your time, enjoy the ride, and take good care of Agro.

My mom absolutely hated video games, but for some reason, she loved SotC. She insisted my brother and I let her watch every time we played. She even cried during one of the big moments. It’s one of my best memories of her.

That’s so sweet. Zelda was like that for me and my dad. He’d play, and I’d sit and help him solve puzzles. Nostalgic stuff.

I had a similar experience! My college roommates would stop what they were doing to watch me play through the colossus battles. Such a unique game.

That’s such a touching story. I’m sorry if she’s no longer around, but it’s beautiful you had those moments with her.

Thanks, she passed a few years ago. Those gaming moments mean even more now.

Probably the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. The atmosphere is unmatched.

Just a heads-up, it’s spelled Agro, not Argo.

Same here, this game is just incredible.

I wish I could read your comment for the first time again. Perfectly said.

Couldn’t agree more. You summed it up perfectly.

This was one of the first games to make me say, ‘This is art.’

The creator is working on a new game. I can’t wait for it!

Really? Do you have a link or source for that?

@Jory
It’s being called Project Robot for now. There’s a teaser out there you can find.

For me, it was this game and Bioshock. They made me look at games differently. Bioshock was a terrifying yet amazing experience, and now I’m tempted to replay it this weekend.

The moment ‘The Opened Way’ kicks in during a colossus fight… it doesn’t get better than that.

Enjoy one of the greatest PS2 games ever made!

Fun fact: Adam Sandler’s character played this game in the movie Reign Over Me.
