Feeling stuck with gaming lately… any advice?

Lately, I’ve felt like I’m in a slump with gaming. I mostly play Overwatch and Smash Bros. Ultimate because they’re easy and low-stress. Whenever I try something new, I either lose interest or end up overwhelmed by too many unfinished games in my backlog. Has anyone else felt this way? Any ideas on how to shake things up or rekindle that excitement for gaming?

Maybe take a break from gaming for a while?

I stepped away for a few months, and when I came back, it felt refreshing.

I didn’t touch any games for almost a year and a half, and when I returned, I found it much more enjoyable.

I found that playing games with friends, even if we’re not playing the same one, helped me feel less isolated.

Gaming with friends is my main motivation now. We moved recently, and it’s been tough meeting new people, so gaming helps me stay connected.

I’ve had the same struggle. Finding people to game with makes all the difference.

As someone who works remotely and isn’t great with in-person friendships, online gaming has been a lifesaver for me.

For me, a two-week break is usually enough to reset.

I planned to take a short break but ended up going much longer. When I came back, I played for hours without realizing.

Red Dead Redemption 2 brought me back. Such a fantastic game.

It Takes Two rekindled my love for gaming—playing with my daughter has been amazing.

For me, Ghost of Tsushima did the trick.

I just started Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s incredible. I can already tell it’s going to be a favorite.

Satisfactory is my go-to for endless enjoyment. Every time I play, I lose track of hours.

Sometimes stepping away helps you appreciate the hobby again.

I took a five-year break. Now I’m back and enjoying it even more.

Maybe try doing something outside gaming for a while? Read, cook, or pick up a new hobby.

If you’re not enjoying gaming, it’s okay to put it aside for now. You don’t have to play every day.

I feel like modern games often repeat themselves. Finding something fresh and meaningful to play is rare these days.
