Did you know about the Indrema L600? Linux console from 2001 with DVR and open-source features…

And now? It’s just as bad or worse. Net Neutrality is gone, too.

Most of the world doesn’t deal with this nonsense. It’s a U.S. thing.

Sadly, the U.S. controls a lot of global infrastructure, so their policies affect everyone.

Without big-name games, this would have flopped hard. Even the Dreamcast couldn’t make it.

RIP Dreamcast. Gone but not forgotten.

Dreamcast had so much going for it—online play, unique memory cards, and some amazing games.

Its lack of a second joystick hurt it. Ports from other consoles were tough to make.

Yeah, it just couldn’t keep up with the GameCube, PS2, or Xbox. Great ideas but poor execution.

Dual sticks weren’t standard yet. The Dreamcast was ahead in some ways, but poorly timed.

Developers would have avoided it without confidence in its success.

Sometimes devs work on stuff just for fun, though.

True, but passion projects don’t pay the bills.

Steam Deck is basically what this wanted to be.

Anyone remember the Ouya?

I backed it… worst $100 I ever spent.

Ouya wasn’t even the first. Anyone remember OnLive?

A DVR in 2002 cost $500. At $300, this could have been a steal.
