Did anyone else love Spyro as a kid? I finally 100% the trilogy…

I just finished 100% completing the Spyro trilogy, and it brought back so many childhood memories. It only took me a few days, but I tried my best not to use guides and relied on my memory. I did need help for a few tricky spots like hidden gems, dragon eggs, and other collectibles in Spyro 3. I also got every achievement and skill point on Xbox to make it a perfect 100%. The nostalgia hit hard!

I used to play these on the demo setups at Ikea while my parents were shopping. Good times!

I’m working on 100% too and aiming for all the Xbox achievements. I just finished the first two games and started the third one today. Loving it so far!

Wait… what am I missing? I have 100% on all three games. I played with my daughter, and we spent ages finding all the gems, eggs, and orbs. Where does the bonus percentage come from?

The bonus percentages come from special levels. In Spyro 1, it’s Gnasty’s Loot, which unlocks after 100%. In Spyro 2, once you finish everything, you get access to Dragon Shores, where there’s a permanent superflame as a reward. For Spyro 3, 117% is the full completion. After collecting all 15,000 gems and 149 eggs, you unlock the Super Bonus Round through the big portal in Midnight Mountain.

Oh wow, thanks for explaining! We’re actually really close to finishing everything. My daughter’s going to be thrilled!

Glad to help! I’ve been replaying these games every couple of years since I was a kid. They’re timeless for me. It’s awesome to see people still enjoying collectathon games like these.

This guy really knows his Spyro stuff!

The skill points in Spyro 3 can be brutal. I remember getting super frustrated with the skating sections, especially during the races. The physics were so annoying, but it made landing tricks easier in the skate parks.

Spyro always gets me emotional. The nostalgia is real :sob::sob:.

I played the first two games as a kid. If I’d seen this trilogy back then, I’d have been over the moon!

Every couple of years, I replay the trilogy. It’s such a feel-good experience, and the nostalgia is unmatched.

Is this game worth playing? Never tried it.

Are all Spyro games like Banjo Kazooie or Mario 64? Or do they change things up?

The first three games are pretty similar, but each adds new features. Spyro 2 introduced new moves like swimming and climbing, and Spyro 3 added mini-games and new playable characters. After the original trilogy, the quality varies. ‘Enter the Dragonfly’ was unfinished and rough. The GBA games had their charm, but they were more limited.

‘A Hero’s Tail’ felt more like Jak & Daxter, less of a collectathon. The Legend of Spyro series went for action-heavy gameplay. And then there’s Skylanders, which is fun but doesn’t really feel like a Spyro game—it just used his name to launch the series. Overall, the original trilogy is where Spyro shines most.

What’s the trilogy called? Is it on PC or just consoles?

It’s called Spyro Reignited Trilogy. You can play it on PC and consoles, including the Switch (though the Switch version has some performance dips). If you’re playing on PC, lock your FPS because there’s a bug in the Magic Crafters world where platforms don’t work properly at high frame rates.

I wish they’d remaster ‘Enter the Dragonfly.’

They need to do a remaster for ‘The Legend of Spyro’ series. I’d love that.
