I’ve never played AC before and mostly want to try the single-player mode. Are OS Tuning upgrades there from the start, or did they add them in later?
The multiplayer scene tends to look down on meta weapons, but for single-player, Armored Core’s all about what works best for you. OS Tuning upgrades come from Arena challenges, which also give you practice against other ACs. You can complete them anytime, and the chips you get really help with your performance, like weapon switching. If you’re stuck, Arena battles can make the main story easier!
Longtime Souls fan here, survived all the brutal challenges and platinumed every one. But this game just isn’t clicking for me. It’s like Sekiro all over again - I struggled with that too but eventually got it. Hoping I can give AC6 another try and see what everyone loves about it.

If you could handle Sekiro, AC6 shouldn’t be too hard. Both games push you to be aggressive. Only a few fights in AC6 are really dependent on having the right weapon setup. I’d suggest trying a simple build and then switching to Stun Needle if things get tough. Arena matches help too since you earn OS Tuning chips that improve your gear.
