I was searching for something new to do, and I always enjoyed playing the older Total War games on my Mac. My issue is that, because my MacBook is older, practically no games released today will run on it; therefore, I would have to play them on my Xbox One.
I would like to know if there are any decent grand strategy games for the Xbox One that are in the same vein as the Total War series Empire, Rome, Medieval, Empire?
I was glancing at Crusader Kings 2, but once more. It is not on a console and I can’t play it on my old MacBook. I already own Cities: Skylines and Tropico on Xbox, but that doesn’t scratch my craving for a Total War game.
Halo Wars 1 and 2 are available on Game Pass. Additionally, Sudden Strike 4 was recently released as a highly authentic strategy game. Unfortunately, similar titles like Total War are not yet available on consoles.
It is unlikely to find a game comparable to the Total War series on consoles, as the controllers lack sufficient controls and the hardware struggles with such games. Even many decent PCs have trouble with the latest titles. While my computer manages older Total War games like Shogun 2 and Rome with ease, I have to lower the graphics settings for Total War: Warhammer.
However, I enjoy Halo Wars 1 and 2, CIV Rev, and Supreme Commander 2 on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
It can not handle much more than that, so I am currently playing Rome Total War on my Mac. I can still play Empire Total War and get away with it, but that’s about it.
I was never really into Halo, so I never looked into Halo Wars, but I keep seeing those results when I search, so maybe I should.
