A completely normal quote from Zeno Clash, right?

Zeno Clash has some of the wildest lines I’ve ever heard in a game.

Father-Mother approves.

The voice acting really made it memorable!

We need more games from Chile!

What is this… text for ants?

It’s an old game from 2009, so I’m guessing OP is playing it on a modern resolution with bad UI scaling.

Ace Team really went all out with this one.

This line has stuck with me for years. My old PC couldn’t even handle it back then!

“You worthless KAK!”

Kak means poop in my language, so maybe that’s why it stayed with me forever. Such a weird but fun game.

Man, back in the day, Source engine was everything. Ragdoll physics were revolutionary back then!

Funny how quickly we went backwards, and now 90% of games are just disappointing.

@Tobi
90% of games have always been mediocre. It’s just now we notice it more with big-name studios.

Zeno Clash was pretty bad, honestly. I don’t know why people are nostalgic about it; it felt more like an early-access game that just got by for being on Source.

Excuse me?

Is this part of a death scene or something?

Games don’t really do those like they used to.

No, she’s already dead. The quote makes more sense in context. There’s a group called the Corwids who reject logic and do whatever their chaotic whims tell them. One Corwid walked in a straight line until he hit a wall and starved there. Another smashed his own face with a rock every day.

The line “and that is what Emmia did” is meant to be matter-of-fact, showing how inexplicable their actions are. The series explores the clash of morality, sanity, and society’s rules, almost like a surreal fable. I love this game.

@Finch
Yeah, Corwids not only follow their whims, they become them. The guy walking straight did it because he literally couldn’t stop. If he hit a wall, he’d just keep trying to go forward. It’s wild.

What DOA said. Here’s a clip for visual context:

I remember being so hyped for this game. It was one of the weirdest games I’d ever played back then, and it was a blast.

Ace Team’s newer game, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, is awesome too!

Didn’t know about this game, but I looked it up and thought, “This looks like Source.” Sure enough, it is. Iconic engine.
